Matthew 7:1-12. It can sometimes be hard to figure out what Jesus is trying to say when we try to digest parts of his messages by themselves. But when we read them together, as ingredients of a larger recipe, then we can better take it in. Matthew 6:19-34. Living in the kingdom of God isn’t merely about avoiding greed for things that the culture around us has to offer. For sure it’s about being greedy – but for different things.
Matthew 5:17-20. When Jesus talked about heaven, he wasn’t just trying to explain what happens when we die. Jesus was revealing to us something about the kingdom of God as it is right now, how we can find it, and what we will – and won’t – find when we get there.
